Neanderthals were specially evolved to live among the glaciers, and when they receded that helped spell their end. Although their DNA is still part of humananity on earth to this day. Glacier movements brought precious nutrients to our fertile valleys, making it possible to farm and feed animals and humans. The role of glaciers in our lives cannot be overstated, and is not totally understood. Scientists use boring machinery to collect ice cores with layers of historical record frozen for the eye to see.
